Exploring Our World
We like to spend time with Papatūānuku (our Earth Mother) every week, going on bush walks, to the beach or to our beautiful parks exploring nature.
We promote manaakitanga (caring for others) and are out in the community spending time with residents in local retirement villages, visiting farms, horse riding, or caring for animals and pets.
Embracing Te Ao Māori
We encompass Te Ao Māori (the Māori world) with local marae visits, waiata Māori, encouraging Te Reo during playgroups and in Educarers’ homes.
We have Educarers who are fluent Te Reo speakers and have worked in local kohanga and have a good knowledge of kawa (local protocols) in this roopu (area). We have karakia regularly and hākari for special occasions.
Learning Naturally
We encourage play based learning, using natural materials and resources for everyday play – sand, earth, shells, wood, recycled and wooden materials.
We are striving towards a plastic free environment and utilising all that nature has to offer us for our resources at playgroups.
What Is a Beeling?
Beelings are baby bees.
We see our tamariki as nature’s taonga (treasures) and as such should spend as much time outside with Papatūānuku as possible.
Learning Through Play
While in home based childcare, your child will go on adventures and develop life-long friendships with other children in the group. It’s all fun and games!
Bizzy Buddyz children learn through play and take part in a huge range of activities. While they are great fun, they are all geared toward helping your child learn basic motor skills, develop social skills and learn about the world around them.
Carpentry Table
When children work at the carpentry table, they get the opportunity to develop confidence and challenge themselves to develop problem solving skills they can use for the remainder of their lives.
They learn about risk taking, gross and fine motor skills, textures, weight, volume, length, width, smell and touch.
Learning Through Play

Supporting the Transition to School
Bizzy Buddyz is passionate about providing children with the skills to transition to the next stage of their learning journey and we ensure our practice is informed by current research.
By having low ratios and building strong relationships, Educarers are able to support children’s social, emotional and communication skills.
Our low ratios also provide opportunities for children to be listened to, be part of a team, build confidence and trusting friendships.
Whānau, Educarers and Visiting Teachers create a transition to school portfolio which shows a child’s learning journey throughout their time with Bizzy Buddyz. New entrant teachers find these portfolios useful and they also give children a sense of pride and belonging in their new environment.
